The success of our riders would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our many volunteers who make iCan Bike possible. The DSNNN and our iCan Bike parcipants thank you.
Every year in June, the DSNNN brings in the iCan Shine organization with their fleet of adapted bicycles, a specialized instructional program and trained staff to teach participants with any disability ages 8 through adulthood how to ride a two-wheeled bike independently. Riders attend the same 75-minute session each day for five consecutive days (Monday through Friday) and they are physically assisted and encouraged by two volunteer spotters. Over the course of the 5-day camp, the adapted bike is adjusted to gradually introduce more instability to challenge riders at their own individual pace.
Our success is measured in the number of people we can help with the quality of programs and services we provide. These programs are fueled by our dedicated staff, caring volunteers and generous donors like you.
